The session will be led by Dr. Chris Hobbs.
Chris is a business consultant and a Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence at Southampton University, helping academics to commercialise their research. He's been the Head of Business Strategy at the Satellite Applications Catapult and a Managing Director of an SME developing solid state hydrogen power sources. He has supported many people and businesses through incubators and accelerators, as well as raising funding himself. Chris is looking forward to sharing his thoughts and experience on investment and how to pitch for it.
"Investment – the life blood of a business is its cash flow. I will explain where you can get money to help you grow the business whilst you attempt to gain and grow your customer base.
Pitching – the most common means of money is to ask others for it in return for a share of the business. Here I will walk you through what I think makes a good pitch, i.e. the way you ask them for cash".
