Winton Rewards
Deadline: Monday 31st July, 2023
The Winton prizes (each of £1,000) are for research by a Postdoctoral Fellow in a UK institution in astronomy whose career has shown the most promising development within five years of completing their PhD (including emerging areas).

Earth Observation Marine and Climate Mission Development Programme
Deadline: Thursday 3rd August, 2023
The UKRI and CEOI are pleased to announce an Earth Observation (EO) Technology Call, with the primary aim to solicit new and innovative ideas for EO technology developments for small satellite constellations addressing marine and/or climate applications.
The aim from UKRI and CEOI is to issue 5 grants around £500k each. The Call is open to industry, HEIs and other research organisations based in the UK. Collaborative proposals between industry and academia are encouraged.

General Support Technology Programme (GSTP)
Deadline: Tuesday 15th August, 2023
The General Support Technology Programme (GSTP) is an ESA programme aimed at the development of new and innovative space technologies. ESA and the UKSA are keen to engage smaller SMEs both in and outside the space sector to take part in the this programme, collaborative projects between multiple organisations are welcome. The GSTP offers two different frameworks:
De-risk framework - This enables companies to apply for an initial activity to de-risk their proposed larger project with a small fully funded activity of up to €200k, which must be delivered within 9 months.
Building Block framework - This programme is used to prepare and develop enabling capabilities for space-relate systems and the associated sub-systems.

Cybersecurity as Enabler for Secure Satellite Communications and Resilient Applications
Deadline: Friday 18th August, 2023
This new call for proposals from ESA aims to foster the development of innovative satellite communications technologies, products, systems and downstream applications.
ESA will be offering funding and technical support to companies for the development of technologies, solutions, products and downstream applications addressing the key areas outlined in the call. ESA support will be based on a co-funding scheme where the funding levels will take into consideration product maturity and the risks involved.

Announcement of Opportunity: Exploration Science working group support
Deadline: Open Until Further Notice
The UK Space Agency is making funding available to support academics who have been selected for groups and/or science teams, campaign science groups and other definition work relating to named Exploration missions. The maximum award given will be upwards of £40,000.
