Ramon.Space chooses the Space South Central region for UK & European expansion
Ramon.Space, a leading provider of space-resilient computing infrastructure, has announced the launch of its new subsidiary, Ramon.Space UK, having chosen Surrey Research Park as the location of the company's first European office.
Ramon.Space UK will serve as a key engineering hub, driving innovation and accelerating advancements in space computing and communications both within the UK and globally.
The strategic location of Surrey Research Park – operated by Space South Central academic partner, the University of Surrey – will provide Ramon.Space with access to a community of space innovators and researchers, and plentiful opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives.
Ramon.Space plans to capitalise on the rapidly growing market in advanced computing for increasingly complex space missions that require robust, reliable technology. Industry reports suggest that the global market for space electronics, including high-performance computing systems, is projected to reach $6.4 billion by 2026.
The company is embarking on significant hiring initiatives to attract top local talent, aiming to enhance its engineering capabilities and foster cutting-edge innovation.
Avi Shabtai, Chief Executive Officer at Ramon.Space, said:
“We see tremendous potential in the UK space sector and are eager to contribute to its growth.
“Our high-performance computing systems and processors are designed to meet the rigorous demands of satellite and deep space missions, empowering government agencies and commercial providers to achieve mission success with confidence."
By establishing a presence in the UK, Ramon.Space will not only tap into a rich network of space industry professionals but also contribute to the broader goal of enhancing the UK's capabilities in space and satellite technology. This move underscores the strategic importance of international collaborations in advancing global space missions and developing resilient computing space infrastructure.
With a range of upstream and downstream space capabilities unrivalled anywhere in the UK, the Space South Central region of Hampshire, Surrey and the Isle of Wight has long been a popular choice for siting the UK operations of international companies.
Space South Central is the UK’s largest regional space cluster, partnered with the universities of Portsmouth, Surrey and Southampton and representing more than 170 space-related businesses, including primes such as Airbus, BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin.
Space South Central’s International Partnerships Manager, Toby Marchant, said:
“Uniting computing innovation and talent, Ramon.Space are transforming how we process, store and move data in space. Their focus on space-resilient computing systems will be invaluable to our community and the wider UK space ecosystem.
"We are delighted to welcome the Ramon.SPace UK team into Space South Central and look forward to connecting Ramon.Space with our regional, national and international networks, as well as working together on several joint initiatives."
