#VFS23: Festival of Innovation - the countdown is on!
There’s less than a month to go until Venturefest South brings together the region’s brightest minds and big thinkers for its #VFS23: Festival of Innovation - and Space South Central will be there.
Joining them are five local space-related companies chosen by the cluster to showcase their expertise, products and services in the new Space Tech zone:
Venturefest South provides a year-round programme of events and activities to promote innovation in the area. Its flagship event, the Festival of Innovation, showcases exciting companies and brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, funders and investors and is aimed at:
Early-stage innovators and entrepreneurs with ambitions to grow
Established businesses ready to grow and scale up and the capacity to collaborate
Large-scale anchor organisations looking to innovate and engage
Dr Louise Butt, Director of the Space South Central Enterprise Network, said:
“Venturefest South shares many of Space South Central’s objectives: accelerating innovation and growth and championing the phenomenal breadth of talent and expertise in the region.
“The Festival of Innovation is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and explore new ideas and technology, and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to bring some exciting companies with us to highlight space sector innovation in the region.”
The UK’s largest regional space cluster represents more than 130 space-related organisations so the Space South Central team was spoilt for choice when deciding which companies to invite to the event. Dr Louise Butt said:
“The Space South Central region has a space heritage going back nearly 70 years, with a range of space capabilities unrivalled anywhere else in the UK – so there’s certainly no shortage of talent and innovation here!
“The five companies we’re bringing with us are all ‘ones to watch’ – new or emerging space innovators, start-ups or SMEs – that will benefit from the visibility the Festival of Innovation will give them.
“We’re excited that there’ll be such a strong space presence at this year’s event and look forward to meeting visitors from all sectors to discuss how space innovation and technology could boost their business.
