Space South Central joins UKspace

Space South Central has become a member of UKspace, the industry’s official trade body.

UKspace acts as the voice of the UK space sector, promoting organisations of all sizes in Government, Parliament, nationally and internationally.

The UK’s largest space cluster, Space South Central joined the trade body under its new cluster membership category.

Dr Louise Butt, Director of the Space South Central Enterprise Network, said: “By creating a new membership category for space clusters, UKspace has acknowledged clusters' vital role in representing space-related businesses and academia across the country.

“Space South Central champions more than 130 businesses and three world-class universities in Hampshire, Surrey and the Isle of Wight. Their combined capabilities encapsulate the whole spectrum of the UK space industry in one small region.

“Joining UKspace aligns with our aims to bring new opportunities and connections to our members and to promote the heritage and breadth of our region’s space innovation and expertise.”

Penelope Utting, Membership and Communication at UKspace, said: “UKspace is delighted to welcome Space South Central as one of the first of our cluster memberships.

“As one powerful voice representing the space sector to government and other key stakeholders nationally and internationally, UKspace hugely values the new and exciting space companies that the clusters bring with them and the input they will have.”
